Summary 

Study of Microstructure of concrete using Mercury Intrusion Porosimetry

The objective was to study the effect on porosity, strength and permeability of concrete due to different parameters like curing, water cement ratio and silica fumes (as admixtures). The results obtained from the experiments were compared with the results obtained by using existing models and MIP test data. The research finally concluded that porosity, strength and permeability of concrete increases with the use of silica fumes as admixtures. The strength also increases with increased curing and water/cement ratio. Also MIP can be used as Non- Destructive testing method for concrete.
